THE SIMULATION OF MECHANICAL STIMULATION EFFECT ON BONE ELASTICITY LIMIT BASED ON FINITE ELEMENT METHOD (FEM)

Osteoporosis is a disease affecting bones which characterized by decreased bone density; become porous and susceptible to fractures. occurs because of an imbalance during remodeling phase between resorption formation processes. This study aims simulate the effects mechanical stimulations on femoral elasticity limit. It hoped that these stimuli can provide information limits. Initially, we constructed femur in two layers using triangular elements. Then entered properties (Young’s modulus Poisson’s ratio) based age femur. After calculated value stress, strain, strain rate reversal phase. Next, density thermodynamic equation calculation limit particle swarm optimization (PSO) methods. The stress caused walking higher than when standing still. In this case, difference activity results increase 33.82% 34.57%. Based simulation results, it be concluded stimulation 2.99% cortical 0.975% trabecular bone. Bone used determine level osteoporosis occurs. elasticity, smaller possibility osteoporosis.
